Novello & Son
Especially written for Ros, by Arnold Evans. Performed with pianist Gavin Roberts.
In 1938, Madame Clara Novello Davies – singer, pianist, conductor, one of Cardiff’s most famous daughters – looks back at her life and her relationship with her son Ivor whose unexpected fame has eclipsed hers. In a funny very poignant final performance, she sings his songs and allows us a glimpse of her conflicting emotions… envy, guilt, regret… and a new feeling of invisibility.
